Quick change* we will still be eating at 6:45 but Mariann, our guest is coming to the courts at 6 to hit with you and to talk to you.
okay so here is what i learned at my meeting tonight:

Varsity tournament is this Thursday and Friday starting at 11 @ Mtn. View
at region if any of you end up getting 5th place you will be in a play off match against another region to see who goes to state. This match will played on Monday at 4PM in Roy..... so plan for that just in case

JV your tournament got moved to Tuesday and it will start at 10 AM. I am trying my best to get work off so i can be there :)
Also good news is rather than just random draw it will be based on how you did this season which means we will have good seeds because you all did so well!!

Varsity- I know who you play but im gonna let you find out on thursday :)

Our team dinner will be This Wed night. I lost my sheet with all the mothers that offered to help....So i only remember a few. Olivia's mom, Mckenna's mom, and alex's mom are the ones i remembered so if any other moms signed up for want to help please e-mail me, also if someone wants to volunteer to head it up let me know also.

Eat more!

You should all be eating around 2400 calories a day. 8 ounces of grains, 3 cups of veg, 2 cups fruit, 3 cups dairy, protein food 6.5 ounces. I make you all run enough you should not be scared to eat! You burn enough calories, just eat! A granola bar for a meal is not a meal!!! Parents please help pack your kids good full lunches and please make sure the girls are eating!

Here are some tips:
Eat a larger meal if you have 3-6 hours before you begin your exercise. Smaller "mini" meals are better if you only have an hour or two before your workout begins. Meals that are high in complex carbohydrates are powerful because they give your muscles the very best source of fuel. Whole grain pasta, bagels, baked potatoes, rice, and fresh fruit are all good sources of complex carbohydrates.

Limit the amount of fatty foods such as fast food, eggs, meat, and cheese that you eat for your pre-exercise meal. These foods take much longer to digest and may make you feel sluggish and tired.

Avoid high-bulk (high-fiber), gas forming foods such as broccoli, baked beans, or bran cereal. These foods may cause gas pains during exercise.

Avoid sugars and sweets, especially soft drinks and candy, less than 1 hour before training. High-sugar foods will give you quick energy, but it won't last long.

Do not try new foods before a competition. You may have trouble digesting a food you have never eaten before. Choose foods that you eat regularly and are familiar to you.

Hey girls i talked to my old coach Mike who teaches at Ivory Ridge. He is willing to do group lesson Saturday's for only 10$ (which is an amazing deal!) at Timp. This Saturday the only time he can do it is 4 PM. Other Saturday's will be earlier. Leave a message on this if you want to do the lessons and if you can do them this Saturday. Please let me know by tomorrow if you will be attending lessons for this Saturday. Remember practice tomorrow at 3!

Parents!

Glen and i have class every Tuesday and Thursday. Tuesday we had to miss class because the matches went a little longer and the bus took a while to get home. We would love to have parent help us out today by riding the bus home with the girls so we can go right to school when the match is over.
